CONGRATULATIONS TO STEPHEN AND SANDY, THE NEWLYWEDS!

And of course, i enjoyed myself being sandy's (my cousin) bridesmaid a.k.a sister. I think i'll be typing out a longgg post.

Anyway, made all my way from Ang Mo Kio to Bukit Batok on saturday evening. The journey sucked. It seems that i am taking FOREVER to reach my destination cos towards jurong east that side, the duration for travelling from one station to the other is farrrr. For once, i thought i was travelling from planet earth to some other planet lala-land (●>v<●*。+ノノ

Then weichen, sandy's brother a.k.a. 二十四孝弟弟- filial brother (read on to find out), came to pick me up. Frankly speaking, i didn't really want to sit his car initially cos he had just got his licence. Little risky there.. Haha! However, he proved me wrong. See, i'm still typing here.

Mingli (sandy's sister) dyed her whole head red for the big event next day. She did everything from hair to shopping for clothes all on saturday. That's so last minute! For me, think one would hardly catch me doing things at the eleventh hour.

Here's a little drama: she went to this salon at west mall to dye her hair. The stylist got her a gold and white colour, which was obviously wrong. After which she dyed her her again. Heard from weichen that the second colour was also a disaster before the final(¬_¬) LOL. This took up her appointment for manicure. In the end, she never do her nails. When she reached home, she tried out the stocking and found that it's too sheer and that's not what she wanted. I think it's sucky if this were to go with the white dress. I suggested that we go around the little central near her house to look for a higher denier stocking. It was about 9pm then and rain was pelting down from the skies. We toured round the central but shops were either CLOSED or DON'T HAVE. So, we went to IMM to get it instead. Moral of the drama: NEVER DO THINGS AT THE LAST MINUTE.

Basically weichen ransacked the whole house to find the wedding-related CD ROM which was missing in action. He and his mum even went to the extent to check the rubbish chute. It was still raining then. Absolute 二十四孝弟弟. 感动!!

Oh man! The best thing i like about their house is that they have cable tv!! Was beaming from ear to ear while scanning through all the channels, eating my favourite junk food and mugging amaths at the same time. Saw pang pang tang on channel v and made me thought of tamlyn and her clique, for they are pang pang tang's fans. (ゝ∀・)ゞ。

All were busy and slept only at about 2am sunday. ( ̄ー ̄)☆

Tada!! Sunday's here! Big day's here! (^-^)/ Woke up at around 5am and mingli, weichen and i went to buy breakfast. It seems like as singapore's not going to have any food selling for the rest of the week, so much so that Mingli bought like around 30 bucks worth of buns and dim sum (¬_¬)

The other 2 sisters also reached while sandy was still doing her hair and makeup. Were discussing whether how much ang pau money we should take from the stephen and his brothers before "surrendering" sandy to them (●´∀`)

They reached at about 9am and we started playing the door games. It was some typical games like answering questions to test whether how well does stephen knows about sandy, singing love songs and eating food with sour, sweet, bitter and spicy tastes. What else can i say? His brothers were remarkably steady to meet our request and the ang pau money was generous of more than $300 though they were bitchy at times while haggling the ang pau money. Thus was about $75/sister.

Was told by serene, one of our sisters that this is the largest ang pau money she had ever came across. The lowest she got was $5/sister cos that that particular couple was still quite young then and it was a shotgun marriage. Feel that i'm so lucky. First time being a bridesmaid and the ang pau money's so generous. I'm having a good impression on being a bridesmaid now.

We let them in after we were satisfied and some complicated chinese wedding ceremonies went on while the photographer and weichen, being a 二十四孝弟弟 again, together with 2 of his other friends were busily taking photos and flimming videos, capturing the precious moments.

After that, we went some mountainous area to take MORE photos. Hmm.. Didn't know that there's still this kinda place in singapore. Frankly speaking, until today i still don't know how does the bukit timah hill looks like(¬_¬)

Anyway, the weather was so hot that Mingli's skin oxidised ther foundation on her face It was only 12 in the afternoon when we reached the groom's place whereby MORE complicated chinese wedding ceremonies went on. I thought was already 2pm. What a longgg morning we went through. What i looked forward most is nothing but the lunch buffet (^-^)/

Us, sisters, wanted to look at the bride being carried into the room by the groom but those childish brothers of stephen deliberately blocked our view and demanding for ang pau money if we wanted them to give way, all as a form of revenge for the door games just now <(`⌒´)>

We then helped sandy to change out of her bulky wedding gown to the traditional chinese wedding dress and those sophisticated jewellery to thick gold necklaces and little touch up on her makeup. After which, we had MORE photoshoots in their new room.

After countless of ceremonies, we head back to sandy's house for another series of ceremonies. On our way back, was sitting in one of the brothers' car cos i was abandoned by weichen and mingli and was sabotage by the rest (._.)ノ However, that was when i knew that how interesting with complicity one life could be while pursuing studies as we were chatting on the way back. He studied in ite dover for 2 years, after which he went to singapore poly for 2 years (or is it 3 years? Oh i forgot~) before leaving for Australia for 4 years of studies. This method of pursuing studies sounds interesting as he had tried different types of study life, especially the australia part. Totally cool! >(○゚ε^○)⌒☆;:*:;☆

For some i-don't-know-what reason, a big, yes it was a BIG one, roasted pig was needed to be carried from the groom's house to bride's. As MORE photoshoots were expected, how can we NOT take several shots with the ugly roasted pig?? Just use a little bit of your imagination: sisters wearing beautiful white dresses while brothers looking smart in their suits, TAKING PHOTOS WITH A FUGLY ROASTED PIG 〓〓 Moreover, the pig was in the middle of the photo (。・_・。)ノ

Needless to say, ceremony again (・_・)★ Finally everything ended at around 2pm and we had a short break before heading to the hotel. I made another new friend other than with the 2 sisters. She's weichen's friend's sister and she's a nice girl. She's tall and skinny, like Joanne, with straight hair, 娃娃音 ( similar cute vocal as donald duck) and is of the same age as me.

We reached Hotel Novotel at around 3 plus after which all were busily preparing for the dinner, be it the personal grooming, speech or slideshows for the guests at dinner, while i seemed to be the most carefree soul. I was during some self exploration around the hotel. Love the cozy ambience of the bar and hotel room's toilet. It's more luxurious than the one in sentosa resort which i went with my girlfriends and guyfriends some time ago. Think because it is a couple room that's why there's a need to have a bigger bathtub. See, I'm that person who don't mind about hotel's services, not much of their lobby but exceptionally particular about the hotel room's toilet. Oh, Liang Court is somehow interconnected with Hotel Novotel now too.

Sandy's makeup artist and hair stylist did Mingli's hair and makeup like some SUPERSTAR WANNABE for 100 bucks. Oh God. Alright frankly speaking, i think it's wayyy too much for what i think it would really cost but they told her that her skin is SPECIAL (yes they used that term), so much so that they suggested to her that she should use ampoule and for her case, i think it works like the function of bitumen (chemistry joke ^^) . They charged mingli 20 bucks for it whereby one could get it outside at about a few bucks. Anyway her skin still oxidised the foundation again even before the dinner started although the main function of ampoule is to keep her makeup (・_・) So ironic. However the hair style she did was really gorgeous i should say.

We went down early to be at the reception to mark the guests' attendance and collect ang pau money while brothers were hanging around for nothing and weichen, with his 2 other friends, was busy with cameras again. Think should award them with the name of "sai kung warriors" So many ang paus collected.. How i wished they were mine too (。・_・。)ノ

Pulchritudinous sandy was with the lovely wedding gown, walking arm in arm with the groom down the aisle followed by a speech and slideshow before dinner started. There was also a magic show put up by a magician named francis with his assistant, a charming lady, who both are eye candies to me ( ̄ー ̄)☆

Basically, i was still in high spirits UNTIL i sat down for the dinner cos i was sitting with my great uncle. My lively mood was so ruined that i didn't feel much like eating ( ┰_┰) His children, my cousins too, were asking why i looked unhappy. For once i had an urge to reply them: "how can i POSSIBLY be happy sitting with someone at the same table whom disgusted me with his rudeness like that father of yours?!" IF i were not to respect him as my senior and we weren't at a public place, i swear that i'm gonna to scream his head off. He was so rude with his loud bomming voice, criticizing over 101 things for instance those people are dumb with the forever-it-seems-to-be champagne toast and cheers, trying his best to expose the magician's tricks LOUDLY (i'm sure it was loud, so much so that the magician could hear and actually replied my great uncle), and that really took the biscuit! HE WAS AN UTTER DISGRACE <(`⌒´)>

In conclusion, i feel that being a bridesmaid is a all new experience to me, with loads of food, fun and new friends made. In fact, all i did was to play all the way and recieved up to 150++ bucks of ang pau money, inclusive of the door games', groom's and bride's side individually and another from groom himself. Sometimes, i really feel like saluting to myself, for i still can play like nobody's business though next day is my Amaths prelim paper 1. A day more of self revison in exchange for an experience + new friends + $$$ is WORTH IT in my eyes ( ̄ー ̄)☆ The filial brother took loads of pictures. I'm gonna to take from him and post it online asap ^^
